Frequently asked questions.

Everything you always wanted to know about Flying Cars but you couldn’t find the right person to ask because we were hiding in a box.

What exactly does Flying Cars Innovation do?

We help charities and non-profits design fundraising campaigns that actually work. Think of us as the creative engine behind brilliant ideas, bold experiments, and new products that grow your impact and income.

We run innovation sprints, co-create campaigns, and prototype new fundraising products - all with your audience at the heart.

Translation: If your current fundraising has flatlined, we can help it take off.

Why the name "Flying Cars"?

Flying Cars is about the promise of the future that is yet to be realised. So work with us and we will take you into the future. Or something like that.

What is a fundraising innovation cycle?

It’s a fast-paced, structured process that takes you from a challenge to a testable campaign idea in about 4 months.

It includes:

  • Insight gathering from your audiences

  • Creative ideation and concept development

  • Prototyping and testing (often with real people)

  • Validation and refinement

  • No fluff. Just focused energy, collaboration, and clever methods to get results.

How long do your projects usually take?

A classic innovation cycle typically takes around 4–5 months - from discovery to a fully validated fundraising concept. But we also offer strategy sessions, and product launches that can run in a few weeks if you're in a hurry.

Do you only work with big charities?

No. We’ve worked with global household names and brilliant small teams. If you’ve got ambition, curiosity, and a desire to shake things up we can help

What kind of fundraising challenges do you help with?

Here’s a taste:

  • “We need a new regular giving product.”

  • “We do not have a strong community fundraising campaign.”

  • “We want to engage a younger audience.”

  • “We have insight, but we don’t know what to do with it.”

  • “We want a new virtual event"

  • “We have a strategic problem with our service delivery; can you help us co-create something more audience-led?”

  • “AI’s giving us FOMO — help.”

Can you help us go further using AI?

Oh yes. AI is part of our toolkit, not a gimmick. We’ll help you use it to:

  1. Create content faster

  2. Optimise campaigns

  3. Personalise donor journeys

  4. Generate new ideas

  5. Do more with less (especially if your team is stretched)

  6. We also offer AI strategy sessions and training, tailored to charities.

Can you train our team in innovation?

Yes! Through our Innovation Academy, we offer practical, no-jargon training in:

  • Innovation processes

  • Audience insight & co-creation

  • Prototyping & testing

  • Creative thinking

  • Using AI in campaign development

  • We make your team more confident, curious, and capable.

Can you help us test our fundraising ideas?

Absolutely. We specialise in real-world testing:

  • Quant Surveys

  • Qual user panels

  • Meta smokescreen tests

  • Digital prototypes

Because you shouldn’t launch anything unless you know your audience wants it
